Raising farm animals in conditions that allow them normal movement, daily pasture feeding, social contact with other animals of the same species and fulfillment of their other needs – affect positively their welfare. In order to ensure good welfare, we have to provide animals with opportunity to express their natural behaviour: ground pecking and scratching for poultry, rolling in the mud and building nests before giving birth for pigs, etc.
